Jacinta Lorenzo

Jacinta was born in Darwin but has lived in Milikapiti for many years. She comes regularly to visit her family in Pirlangimpi and then work at the Munupi art Centre. Jacinta enjoys painting. The patterns she uses come from personal ideas based on her own Jilamara. Her work has been described by other Tiwi people as “old Tiwi patterns” and are used on a wide range of decorative and utilitarian products for the home . Jacinta says that culture is very important specially to pass on to the children
